Helicopter Transports Accident Victim from Clarke School

A helicopter transported a young man injured in a single-car crash on Stetson Avenue about 1 a.m. The patient was conscious at the scene, Swampscott Fire Chief Kevin Breen said.

The young man was transported with a head injury to a Boston hospital, he said. 

The other three individuals in the car were transported to Salem Hospital, the fire chief said.

An accident reconstruction team from State Police and Swampscott police were at the accident scene Saturday morning.

The four-door sedan struck the bridge abutment on Stetson Avenue while the vehicle was traveling towards Norfolk Avenue.

The vehicle caught fire and was extinguished by Swampscott firefighters.
