Girl Tries to Punch 7-Eleven Clerk and More Smashed Car Windows

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police logs. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, May 8 

  • At 00:38 a.m., police received a report of a gunshot at Burpee and Essex Streets. The log item indicated police serviced the report. No further information was available.
  • At 1:33 a.m., a caller reported hearing a banging noise outside her Paradise Road residence. An ambulance was requested and one person was transported to the hospital.
  • At 2:49 a.m., a Burrill Street caller reported that a party who is known to her and lives in Marshfield was harassing her.
  • At 6:43 a.m., police received a report of a dog barking for 45 minutes on Rockland Street.
  • At 11:12 a.m., a caller reported a dead animal at Fisherman's Beach. 
  • At 1:40 p.m., a caller reported two needles were on the ground in front of her Burrill Street address.
  • At 2:01 p.m., a Banks Terrace caller reported a sick or injured raccoon in her backyard. The animal was walking funny. The animal control officer responded and captured the animal.
  • At 3:12 p.m., larceny was reported at the high school.

Friday, May 9

  • At 10:14 a.m., police received a report that a man was walking around a business at 435 Paradise Road and bothering employees.
  • At 12:18 p.m., police received a report of a husband out of control at a Beach Avenue address.
  • At 2:52 p.m., police responded to a three-vehicle accident on the Essex Street bridge. No injuries were reported.

Saturday, May 10

  • At 8:38 a.m, a passenger on a bus had a seizure and was transported to an ambulance.
  • At 8:49 a.m., a two-vehicle accident was reported at Burpee Road by Pidd Street. EMS was notified.
  • At 4:32 p.m., police received a report of hand-to-hand drug deals in the parking lot at 450 Paradise Road.

Sunday, May 11

  • At 4 a.m., police received a report of yelling and screaming in a Pine Street yard.
  • At 10:03 p.m., a group of youth were reportedly causing a disturbance at Martin Way and Puritan Road.
  • At 10:41 p.m., a clerk at the 7-Eleven store reported that a girl tried to punch her because she would not sell the girl cigarettes. A report is due on the incident.
