VIDEOS: Firefighters Battle Three-Alarm Blaze on Andrew Road

Fire apparatus from more than five North Shore communities have been called in to help Swampscott firefighters knock down a three-alarm fire that broke out in an Andrew Road home this morning.

The fire, which was first reported at 9:15 a.m., is currently contained to a blue two-and-a-half story home at 50 Andrew Road.

Update 10:15 a.m.:

Firefighters are currently venting the roof with chainsaws and knocking out windows.

Large plumes of black smoke are pouring from the house.

Fire still contained to original structure.

Update 10:30 a.m.:

Firefighters are giving up on the roof, have taken defensive positions.

Update 11:00 a.m.:

Swampscott Fire Capt. Kevin Thompson said the fire is not yet under control.

Firefighters can be seen pulling down walls on the second floor.

The fire has slowed down considerably.

Update 11:25 a.m.:

Animal control officers called to the scene, firefighters just left the house with what appeared to be a dog wrapped in a blanket.

Update 11:30 a.m.:

Pet dog confirmed deceased as a result of the fire.

Update 11:45 a.m.:

Swampscott firefighter suffered a hand injury and was transported to the hospital, according to Deputy Chief Jim Potts.

Potts said pet rabbits outside of house are unharmed and a pet cat has not yet been located.

Firefighting was reportedly delayed by "minutes" due to a frozen hydrant and firefighters had to tap hydrants on Paradise Road.

Aside from a few pets, the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
