Driver Charged With OUI, Drugs

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police logs. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, March 30

  • At 1:24 p.m., police received a report that a shoplifter was detained at Stop & Shop. The store requested a police officer. 
  • At 5:40 p.m., police gave a driver who ran out of gas a ride home.  
  • At 7:59 p.m., police received a report of an unwanted guest at a New Ocean address.
  • At 9:34 p.m., An erratic operator almost hit an officer on Humphrey Street. 

 Sunday, March 31

  • At 9:45 a.m., a resident came to the police station and reported that coffee had been dumped on a car at a Paradise Road address for the second day in a row.
  • At 2:33 p.m., a customer found a small white dog in the Stop & Shop parking lot.

Monday, April 1

  • At 11:15 a.m., a resident at a 400-block Paradise Road residence reported an attempted break-in.
  • At 12:12 p.m., a Hardy Road caller reported a man, about 30, taking pictures of kids and flowers at Hadley School.
  • At 1:39 p.m., police received a report from the high school. Victims of a previous crime reported the same party had threatened them again.
  • At 2:07 p.m., a caller reported an attempted break-in to her motor vehicle on Norfolk Avenue.
  • At 4:27 p.m., police arrested a motor vehicle operator for driving with a suspended license.
  • At 8:05 p.m., police received a report of an 11-year-old out of control at a Atlantic Avenue residence.  

Tuesday, April 2

  • At 7:53 p.m., police received a report of a missing person, aged 30, from a Paradise Road group home.

Wednesday, April 3

  • At 1:44 a.m., police charged Stefanie Santarpio, 36, of 77 Essex St., Swampscott with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, an uninsured motor vehicle, and Operating Under the Influence of drugs, second offense.
