The following information was provided by the Swampscott Police. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Nov. 26

  • At 2:27 p.m. a motorist reported a hit and run accident at the mall access road by Paradise Road. 

Sunday, Nov. 27

  • At 8:34 a.m. police received a call from a person concerned that a man was swimming in the ocean with his clothes on. The man told police he just wanted to swim and was headed home. 
  • At 2:44 p.m. a caller complained that a Pine Street resident was working on his car and playing loud music. The officer reported that the there was no music upon arrival and the work was not of a kind that would impact neighbors.
  • At 10:49 p.m. a resident reported that a neighbor has furniture that belongs to her and she would like it returned. Police knocked on the neighbor’s door but there was no answer.

Monday, Nov. 28

  • At 2:20 p.m. the school resource officer reported graffiti on a door at Middlesex Avenue. 
  • At 4:11 p.m. a party came to the police station to be served with a restraining order and subsequently arrested for an outstanding warrant. 
  • At 5:29 p.m. a man arrested on a warrant was served a restraining order.  

Tuesday, Nov. 29

  • At 9:34 a.m. a Manson Street caller reported loud work in the neighborhood. An officer observed the work taking place and filed a report. 
  • At 11:42 a.m. a DPW worker called for police assistance to deal with an irate resident on Humphrey Street.
  • At 9:56 p.m. a Rock Street wife reported that her husband was drunk and sitting in the car in the driveway and she was afraid he was going to drive off. The man was not in the car when police arrived. He was back in the house without incident. 

Wednesday, Nov. 30

  • At 10:15 a.m. a party came into the police station and reported the theft and use of credit cards.
  • At 9:33 pm police received a 911 call about a stove fire on Pine Street. Firefighters were dispatched to the working fire. 
  • At 11:14 pm police responded to a call from transit police about a fight at the train depot. The parties were separated and removed from the train. 

Thursday, Dec. 1

  • At 9:55 a.m. a caller reported a suspicious call from Verizon requesting information about a bill. Caller suspected the call might have been part of a scam.
  • At 3:18 p.m. a caller reported vandalism to her son’s motor vehicle at the high school.

Friday, Dec. 2

  • At 6:13 p.m. a Vantage Terrace caller reported being threatened three times during cell phone calls.
  • At 10:04 p.m. Salem police announced a bulletin saying a they had received a report of a white van being forced off the road. The report said a woman was taken from the van and dragged into a white vehicle. The incident reportedly took place near the Swampscott Cemetery.
  • At 11:21 p.m. a woman came to the station to report a past incident of domestic abuse, two days earlier in Revere, and to seek a restraining order against the individual. The woman has moved to Swampscott two days earlier. Police issued the restraining order.

Saturday, Dec. 3

  • At 1:07 a.m. police received a report from Forest Avenue of a verbal argument between a husband and wife.
  • At 1:13 a.m. police received a report of a domestic incident at a Beach Avenue address. One person was taken into custody.
  • At 11:16 a.m. police checked on the well being of a youth after comments were posted on facebook. Police spoke to the parents and the child and determined all was well and there were no issues.

Sunday, Dec. 4

  • At 10:28 p.m. Tewksbury police requested help locating a resident threatening his family in their city. Police tried to locate the person. His wife told them she thought he was in a bar in Salem.

Monday, Dec. 6

  • At 2:19 p.m. police took down a report of threats being made at the middle school.

Tuesday, Dec 7

  • At 3:22 p.m. Det. Cheever reported larceny at the high school.
  • Tewksbury police requested help locating a resident threatening his family in their city. Police tried to locate the person. His wife told them she thought he was in a bar in Salem.

The following people were arrested:

  • James Warren, 42, of 415 Crescent St., Chelsea, was arrested on charges including disorderly conduct,OUI drugs, second offense, and driving to endanger.
  • James Kantor, 47, of 4 Hillcrest Circle, Swampscott, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
  • Gilbert Gerges, 34, of 16 Momola Way, Medford, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
