Police Respond to Dancing Report

Swampscott police provided the following information. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 30

At 7:13 p.m., a caller reported a breaking and entering after finding her rear door open when she arrived at her Kensington Lane home.

At 4:50 p.m., a caller reported a man slumped over his car's steering wheel in a Paradise Road parking lot. Police took the man into protective custody.

Wednesday, Feb. 1

At 1:39 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle crashing into a tree on Banks Road.

At 2:57 p.m., a Redington Street resident reported a vandalized vehicle.

Thursday, Feb. 2

At 9:56 a.m., a resident on Bradlee Avenue reported an incident of vandalism overnight; a car was keyed.

At 2:19 p.m., a resident turned in diabetic supplies, including needles that had belonged to her deceased husband.  

At 7:03 p.m., a driver reported having hit a guardrail on Foster Road after avoiding an animal in the road. The incident took place the night before.

Friday, Feb. 3

At 12:01 p.m., a person came to the station and reported being bitten by a dog at . Police notified the Board of Health. No information was available on the dog.

At 5:04 p.m., the manager of reported that four youths were creating a disturbance. The youth were gone upon the officer’s arrival.

At 5:20 p.m., the Panera manager reported that the youths had returned. Police located the youths and filed a report.

Saturday, Feb. 4

At 11:29 a.m., a dog owner reported having difficulty controlling a dog on Humphrey Street. An officer helped the owner gain control of the pet and returned them to their residence.

Sunday, Feb. 5

At 10:05 p.m., police received a report of a loose dog in the Danvers Road area. The dog was gone upon police's arrival.

At 10:50 p.m., police received a report of a 15-year-old having possibly overdosed on prescription medication. Police and fire personnel were dispatched to the home.

At 11:16 p.m., police responded to a report from an The child was transported to the hospital. The adult was arrested.

Monday, Feb. 6

At 1:22 p.m., a Humphrey Street employee called police and reported a person wearing a sleeveless shirt and no shoes dancing in the park. The officer said the dancer said he was fine — just dancing on the beach. 

Tuesday, Feb. 7

The owner of a Humphrey Street business called police to report an unwanted person attempting to enter her store. The man was arrested. (See police log entry below.)

Wednesday, Feb. 8

A Galloupes Point Road caller reported hearing a noise that woke her up. Police checked the area and found it to be secure. 

Arrests

Monday, Feb. 6

At 12:26 a.m., police arrested Christopher Stiefel, 27, of 89 Essex St., Swampscott on a charge of assault and battery on a child with injury. 

Tuesday, Feb. 7

At 2:01 p.m. police arrested Chu J. Perez-Martinez, 33, of 16 Dean St., Apt. 1F, Southbridge, MA, for assault and battery and breaking and entering in the daytime — putting a person in fear.

The incident took place at 148 Humphrey St.
