Child in Handcuffs and an Adult Resists Arrest

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police logs. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

  • At 10:26 a.m., a resident brought a watch to the police station. The watch was found on Puritan Road. 
  • At 11:47 a.m., police made an arrest for shoplifting at The Gap on Paradise Road. See arrest log below.  
  • At 3:48 p.m., the fire department requested that police respond to a Muriel Road address where a child had handcuffs on. Police responded.
  • At 7:02 p.m., a caller reported that a gray Toyota Tundra was driving around the Stop & Shop parking lot in an unsafe manner. Two kids were in the pickup. 
  • At 9:20 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Essex Street where a man was reportedly threatened and a woman struck. 

Wednesday, Dec. 5

  • At 1:42 a.m., police met with Lynn police at 199 Eastern Ave. to confirm the location of a past robbery. 
  • At 12:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a large raccoon roaming Stetson Avenue.
  • At 4:36 p.m., police received a report of identity theft on The Greenway. 
  • At 10:34 p.m., a caller reported that an elderly neighbor did not answer her phone and the lights were on in the house. Police checked on the lady and she was fine.

  • On Dec. 4, police arrested Monique Whigham, 29, of 1000 Loring Ave., Salem and charged her with shoplifting and resisting arrest.
