Cat Attack Reported on Puritan Road

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Aug. 19

  • At 9:35 a.m., the animal control officer was notified about a stray dog in Linscott Park.
  •  At 11:32 a.m., 11 motor vehicles were given tickets on Humphrey Street.
  • At 12:32 p.m., a Curry Circle caller reported an ex-roommate was filing a false claim with DCF.
  • At 1:21 p.m., three motor vehicles were given tickets on Humphrey Street.
  • At 5:31 p.m., eight chickens in the street on Ocean Avenue.
  • At 9:52 p.m., beach fire reported at Phillips Beach.
Tuesday, Aug. 20
  • At 0:01 a.m., a caller reported that traffic issues might arise due to the way crosswalk lines were being painted at Elmwood Road and Paradise Road.
  • At 4:34 a.m., an Oakledge Road caller reported that a barking dog on Walker Road had been at it for several hours and was keeping him awake.
  • At 7:17 a.m., a bat was in a house on Aspen Road. The animal control officer was notified.
  • At 8:16 a.m., a caller reported a small, medium-haired tan dog running around on Magnolia Road.
  • At 11:35 a.m., police charged Andrea Bono, 37, of 115 Walnut Ave., Revere with shoplifting, the third offense.
  • At 1:44 p.m., police charged Ryan Caliri, 17, of 58 Prospect St., Marblehead, with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
  • At 6:28 p.m., police responded to a report of a motorists and a pedestrian arguing on Puritan Road. They argued over the operator failing to stop for the walker in a cross-walk.
  • At 8:34 p.m., police responded to a report of youths trying to break into cars on Norfolk Avenue by way of slim-jim.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 21
  • 0:30 a.m., a person came to the station to talk to an officer about a citation from 11/2 years ago.
  • At 10:24 a.m., a man fell off the roof on Grant Road and was transported to Salem Hospital with a possible broken arm.
  • At 7:10 p.m., a caller reported a sick golden retriever at Fisherman's Beach.
  • At 8:10 p.m., a caller from Hampden Street reported her house was broken into earlier in the day. The air conditioning unit had been pushed in.

Thursday, Aug. 22
  • At 7:09 a.m., police received a report of a hypodermic needle on the sidewalk in front of Qdoba restaurant.
  • At 5:12 p.m., police received a report of a man with three dogs on Preston Beach.

Friday, Aug. 23
  • At 00:45 a.m., the state was notified about traffic lights cycling improperly at 331 Paradise Road by Whole Foods Market.
  • At 1:02 a.m., three juveniles found on Monument Avenue. Parents arrived to pick them up.
  • At 8:31 a.m., firefighters responded to a stove fire at 2 Ellis Terrace.
  • At 2:46 p.m., a person on Puritan Road flagged down a police cruiser. The person reported that two house cats came out and attacked her and her dog. The person will follow up and report the incident to the Board of Health.
