Person Hit by Pellet Possibly Fired From Open Window

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police logs. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, May 27

  • At 10:34 a.m., a caller reported that a tree branch was hanging over the top of a car on Phillips Avenue. The branch was removed and placed on the side of the road and DPW was notified. 
  • At 1:56 p.m., people came to the police station and reported that a male had yelled at them and threatened them the night before at the high school in the parking lot. 
  • At 2:08 p.m., a needle was recovered in the Stop & Shop parking lot.
  • At 4:56 p.m., a caller reported a large group of young adults have taken over the street, on Bond Street, as their personal street hockey rink. The caller said the game had ended but the players had left equipment in the road making it impossible for motorists drive through.
  • At 7:58 p.m., an Ellis Road caller reported being shot in the arm by a BB pellet. Police checked out a nearby open window from which the shot may have been fired.
  • At 8:27 p.m., a caller reported that she had left her bank card at 140 Humphrey Street. She called the store and they told her that they had found that they still had the card.  The caller said she retrieved her card but dicovered it had been used to make three fraudalent purchases at a website for $300.

Tuesday, May 28

  • At 00:26 a.m., police received a report of a female screaming for help outside an Essex Street address. 
  • At 1:16 p.m., a Roy Street landlord requested assistance with a tenant who was refusing to let a contractor enter the residence.
  • At 3:04 p.m., a man dumped his scooter by Stop & Shop. An ambulance was called but the man was just scratched up and otherwise fine.
  • At 4:34 p.m., a Paradise Road resident reported harassing phone calls.
  • At 6:09 p.m., a Sargent Road resident reported a dog had been barking incessantly for two hours. It is an ongoing problem, the caller said. 

Wednesday, May 29

  • At 00:42 a.m., an Ocean Avenue caller reported a raccoon in the attic.
  • At 4:40 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with personal injury involving a pedestrian was reported at the high school. The injured subject reportedly did not make his or her self known at the scene. 
  • At 6:41 p.m., drug activity was reported in the Cherry Street area.

Thursday, May 30

  • At 6:31 a.m., a caller reported that a party appeared to be intoxicated and sitting on the curb on Aspen Road.
