Brother Reportedly Texts Threat of Assault

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.





Saturday, Aug. 3

  • At 00:52 a.m., police received a third call about a loud party at Elm street.
  • At 9:59 a.m., police received a call about a large sinkhole beneath the railroad bridge at Burrill Street and Railroad Avenue.
  • At 12:32 p.m., an Essex Street caller reported that her brother had sent her a text saying he was coming by to assault them. He texted a photo of the front of the home to show he was nearby.
  • At 4:50 p.m., a man described as a dark-skinned Hispanic showed a handgun and robbed Olympia Sports at 450 Paradise Road. The man has a mole on his nose and was wearing a green jacket, gray shirt and blue pants. He fled on foot towards Paradise Road.
  • At 6:10 p.m., a caller reported seeing a car hit a parked car at the Hawthorne by the Sea.
  • At 8:47 p.m., police received a report of a resident attacking another resident. The injured person was transported to Salem Hospital. 
  • At 10:42 p.m., a camp fire was reported  at Eisman's Beach.
Sunday, Aug. 4
  • At 00:11 a.m., police received a report of parties shooting paint ball guns in the rear field at Phillips Park.
  • At 3:16 a.m., a caller reported someone had rung the doorbell but no one was there when they answered the door.
  • At 7:52 p.m., police received a report of a lost small white dog. The owner asked that police check the area of North Stone Road.
