Resident Receives Four Anonymous Death Threats

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, July 20

  • At 00:10 a.m., police received a report of an erratic operator inbound from Salem on Essex Street.
  • At 9:07 a.m. police received a report that a dog was panting inside a black Volkswagen with the windows up outside Whole Foods Market.
  • At 12:16 p.m., a car struck a tree on Humphrey Street near Phillips Park. There was an injury.
  • At 1:28 p.m., a 4-year-old who got separated from his family at Preston Beach was located.
  • At 2:19 p.m., police received a report from Crosman Avenue about a UPS package being stolen from the porch. This was reportedly the second one taken from the location.
  • At 5:34 p.m., a caller said an Atlantic Avenue person had been drinking heavily and fell and hit her head.
  • At 5:49 p.m., police received a report that an intoxicated couple was on the baseball field behind the middle school. The caller was concerned they might try to drive.
  • At 7:37 p.m., CVS’s manager asked that police stand by while the business issued a no trespassing order to a customer.
  • At 10:05 p.m., police received a call from a Bay View Drive resident who said she had received threats, four phone calls telling her she would be dead by tonight. The woman said she had no idea who was calling her.

Sunday, July 21

  • At 00:52 a.m., loud youths reportedly at Brooks Terrace or Supreme Court.
  • At 1:05 a.m., police received a call from Puritan Road about loud people on the beach who were starting a fire pit. The beach partiers were moved along.
  • At 9:35 a.m., a Humphrey Street caller said a neighbor was leaving trash in front of his residence.
  • At 12 p.m., vandalism was reported on Duke Street.
  • At 12:40 p.m., police received a report of a stolen bike on Charlotte Road.
  • At 6:48 p.m., a resident reported that a motor vehicle struck a post and barrel at the Whale’s Beach driveway and the driver fled on Puritan Road towards Marblehead. Neighbors came out and picked up the debris.
  • At 9:35 p.m., two youth were reportedly causing a disturbance in the playground by Hadley School.
  • At 10:42 p.m., police received a report that a man was walking on the double yellow line in the middle of Paradise Road between Ellis Road and Norfolk Avenue.
