Assault and Battery and Three Loud Bangs By Stanley School

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, July 10

  • At 10:25 a.m., an officer was to meet a caller from Crescent Street about an ongoing matter involving past claims of assault. The case is already under investigation.
  • At 11:34 a.m., police received a report of a person being locked out of the house on Crescent Street. The person reportedly then arrived home and was all set.
  • At 1:14 p.m, police received a report of a sexual assault on Crescent Street. The person was transported to Salem Hospital.
  • At 1:52 p.m., police received a report that two girls, 13 and 15, had run away from an Essex Street home.
  • At 3:27 p.m., police filed a report about threats at the high school.
  • At 6:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a scam on Norfolk Avenue
  • At 6:36 p.m., police received a report that a father had stolen a motor vehicle on Pine Street and was on his way to New Hampshire.
  • At 7:24 p.m., a landlord reported a problem with a tenant at a Puritan Road residence.
  • At 6:34 p.m., a Longwood Drive residence reported a possible kitchen fire. It appears that the problem was a short in an electric stove.
  • At 9:58 p.m., police received a report of a dog barking in a second-floor apartment on Phillips Street. No one was home. The Board of Health was to be notified on Thursday.
  • At 10:39 p.m., a Loring Avenue caller reported a person at the location had been hit in the head with an object. The caller declined emergency medical service. Police charged Melissa Comins, 44, 1 Loring Ave., Swampscott with domestic assault and battery and assault and battery on a person over 60.
  • At 11:02 p.m., a caller reported hearing three loud bangs in a row by Stanley School. 

Thursday, July 11

  • At 1:31 a.m., a Pine Street caller reported that four teens in hoodies took the front plate from a car in the driveway and ran off towards Superior Street.
