Arrests for Disturbing the Peace and Shoplifting

The following is the Swampscott police log from June 8-13.

Arrests

  • At 2:06 p.m., on Wednesday, June 8, police arrested William Brewster, 20, of 20 Sydney Ave., Lynn, on a warrant for violations and charges including operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop or yield, failure to wear a seatbelt, and a brakes violation.
  • At 6:57 p.m., on Wednesday, June 8, police arrested Paul Collins, 43, of 48 Harvest St., Lynn, for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and on a warrant for larceny over $250.
  • At 2 a.m., on Friday, June 10, police arrested David Messina, 31, of 5 Fenley St., in Revere, for disturbing the peace.
  • At 1:22 a.m., on Monday, June 13, police arrested Rhonda Baker, 43, of 246 Humphrey St., for two counts of shoplifting by concealment.

Wednesday, June 8

  • At 12:17 a.m., police received a report of a Paradise Road resident having a problem with a neighbor. The officer spoke with all of those involved and compiled a report.
  • At 6:24 a.m., police responded to a report of an unknown man walking around an Eastman Avenue neighborhood with a large knife on his belt. Police identified the person as a resident of Eastman Avenue. No violations were observed.
  • At 8:18 a.m., police received a report of an 11-year-old refusing to go to school. The officer reported that the 11-year-old was going to school.
  • At 5:55 p.m., a caller reported that rocks were thrown at her motor vehicle from a passing motor vehicle near Loring and Paradise Road. 

Thursday, June 9

  • At 6:45 a.m., police received a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle on Burpee Road. 
  • At 9:20 a.m., police received a call about a motor vehicle accident involving a taxi and another vehicle on Ellis Road. Firefighters and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene. 
  • At 1:09 p.m., police received a call from a man who said someone sold him a sound system from the back of his truck and the system does not work. 
  • At 5:21 p.m., police received a report of a large tree limb down on Redington Street. 
  • At 5:21 p.m., police received a report of a tree limb down on Paradise Road. 
  • At 5:23 p.m., police received a report of a tree limb down on Franklin Avenue. 
  • At 6:27 p.m., police responded to CVS on Paradise Road for a report of an unruly customer. The person left the store.

Friday, June 10

  • At 1:31 a.m., police received a report of a man running through yards in the Franklin Avenue area possibly letting air out of tires.  Police reported they had one person under arrest. 
  • At 4:59 a.m., police received a report of a broken water main at 90 Pine St. The Department of Public Works was notified.  
  • At 3:08 p.m., police received a report of a missing child on Whitman Road. The officer reported that the child was found.
  • At 8:28 p.m., a caller reported that five teenage males were going in and out of a driveway at MacArthur Circle. The officer reported that the youth were having a water balloon fight. They were sent on their way.
  • At 11:18 p.m., a 17-year-old boy said he was assaulted by a 15-year-old girl. The girl denied the accusation. Medical assistance was declined. 

Saturday, June 11

  • At 9:27 a.m., an officer recovered a bicycle on Railroad Avenue. 
  • At 10:38 a.m., a cell phone caller reported a motor vehicle crash on Paradise Road. Firefighters and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene. The officer assisted with a paperwork exchange between the parties. The accident resulted in less than $1,000 damage. 
  • At 7:04 p.m., police responded to a report of motor vehicles obstructing a driveway on Rockland Street. A police officer issued four parking tickets.
  • At 11:05 p.m., DPW was told that water was running down Plymouth Avenue from the water tower.

Sunday, June 12

  • At 8:12 a.m., a Beverly resident called police and reported that he had received a text message from his wife who was threatening to harm herself at a Swampscott beach. The woman was found and transported to Salem Hospital. 
  • At 11:18 a.m., an animal control officer was notified about an abandoned baby bird.
  • At 11:22 a.m., a resident reported that a sinkhole was forming on Pine Street. DPW was notified and the Fire Department was dispatched to the scene.
  • At 2:21 p.m., a Walker Road caller reported that a motor vehicle had run over her lawn damaging shrubs and leaving the porch in disarray. 
  • At 6:43 p.m., a party requested that a police officer respond to a Paradise Road restaurant because she had received bad service. The party was advised that it was a civil matter, but she insisted that a police officer respond.

Monday, June 13

  • At 9:53 a.m., police issued 13 parking tickets on Railroad Avenue for resident violations.
  • At 1:18 p.m., a caller said her boat was being hit by another lobster boat. Police called the harbormaster and left a message on his phone.
