Aggressive Scooter Operator on Essex

Wednesday, May 1

  • At 7:19 a.m., a child passed out at a Burpee Road residence and was transported to North Shore Children's Hospital.
  • At 9:01 a.m., National Grid reported a crane had ripped out wires at Marshalls on Paradise Road.
  • At 12:32 p.m., a resident reported a suspicious older male on a bicycle on Aspen Road.
  • At 5:54 p.m., a Puritan Road resident was advised that their outdoor grill, producing excessive smoke, was being operated close to an overhang.
  • At 7:28 p.m., a New Ocean Road resident reported a possible restraining order violation.
  • At 9:08 p.m., a dead possum was reported at Hemenway and Humphrey.

Thursday, May 2

  • At 9:38 a.m., police received a report of suspicious activity in the Marshalls parking lot, 1005 Paradise. A car with three occupants appeared to be driving around casing the store or cars.
  • At 2:28 p.m., an apparent civil matter was reported between a taxi driver and a woman.
  • At 6 p.m., a person was walking his dog along Essex Street by the high school and was reportedly breaking tree limbs. The person told police he was pruning the trees. The dog walker was sent on his way.
  • At 7:10 p.m., a past breaking and entering was reported on Roy Street.

  • At 9:53 a.m, police received a report of a man on a scooter on Essex Street who was cutting off cars, passing illegally, as the scooter headed toward Lynn.
  • At 11:45 a.m., police received a report of an altercation in the parking lot at the Gulf Express, across from the high school.
  • At 3 p.m., a Carson Terrace caller reported items were stolen from an unlocked motor vehicle overnight.
  • At 3:04 p.m., a Supreme Court caller reported larceny.
  • At 5:56 p.m., a Humphrey Street caller reported that her 12-year-old son did not come home from school.
  • At 8:42 a.m., a caller reported a man under the railroad overpass, at Railroad Avenue, was yelling obscenities at passersby.
