Accident Reconstruction Team Working Accident Scene

A reconstruction team from State Police and Swampscott Police were at the scene gathering information.


An accident reconstruction team from State Police and Swampscott Police was on Stetson Avenue Saturday morning gathering information about the crash that took place the night before.

A four-door sedan struck the bridge abutment on Stetson Avenue around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Four people were in the car and all were transported to hospitals, said Swampscott Fire Chief Kevin Breen. They were conscious, he said. 

Three people were transported to Salem Hospital and one person to a Boston Hospital, via helicopter, the fire chief said.

The vehicle, which was traveling towards Norfolk Avenue, caught fire and was extinguished by Swampscott firefighters.
