A Stolen Package and Driver Bolts After Stop

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 22

  • At 9:01 a.m., police received a report of a man on the ground, lying on a slab of concrete, at 52 Humphrey St. Nothing was showing when police arrived.
  • At 12:16 p.m., A vehicle that took off from Lynn was stopped by Swampscott police in Swampscott near Capen Road. The driver bolted and the owner of the car, a passenger, remained with the vehicle. Police interviewed the owner. The log item was listed as a drug-related incident.
  • At 1:04 p.m., police received a report of a syringe next to the wall at Burrill Street and Rock Avenue.
  • At 3:29 p.m., police received a report of a package being stolen from a porch at a Paradise Road home.
  • At 5 p.m., police received a report about three youth screaming at Burrill Street and Columbia Street. One of the youth, wearing red shorts, reportedly urinated on a building. Police made contact with the youth and gathered information.
  • At 9:39 p.m., police helped a caller with a small dog in the road, Grant Road. The dog appeared to be lost and the caller held the dog in the backyard until the animal control officer arrived.
