A Distracted Driver and a Sick Raccoon

Thursday, April 25

  • At 12:40 p.m., a motorist reported almost hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk because he was distracted while reading a digital sign before the crosswalk at the Lynn line. Police checked the sign to see if it should be moved.
  • At 7:04 p.m., a motorist was reported to be giving another operator a hard time at an accident by C&L Package Store.
  • At 10:58 p.m., an arrest was made following a motor vehicle stop on Paradise Road. No further information was available.

Friday, April 26

  • At 9:57 a.m., police received a report of a suitcase on the sidewalk on Puritan Way. it turned out to be trash.
  • At 2:51 p.m., a raccoon possibly went under a porch at a Pine Hill Road residence. The animal may be sick.
  • At 4:16 p.m., an officer reported finding a child on Superior Street. The child said he was lost and lived in Lynn.
  • At 10:04 p.m., a parent came to the police station with his son to speak to police about stolen sneakers.

  • At 2:07 a.m, police received a report of a woman locked out of her vehicle on Humphrey Street at the Lynn line.
  • At 11:08 a.m., a New Ocean Street caller reported that a person who sat on her front porch may have violated a restraining order.
  • At 3:12 p.m., a Norfolk Avenue caller said a man came to her back porch and began a sales pitch about direct energy. The caller was concerned that the person came to the back door after no one answered the front door.
  • At 8:40 p.m., youth were reportedly causing a disturbance outside Sleepy's on Paradise Road.
  • At 9:51 p.m., a Bar Link Way caller said someone is ringing her doorbell and no one is there when she answers.
