A man on Burrill Street got his arm caught in machinery.

Thursday, March 10
- 12:20 a.m. — Police carried out a park and walk detail on Paradise Road. The area was checked and found to be secure.
- 7:09 a.m. — A police officer tried to serve court papers to a person on Commonwealth Terrace, but the person did not live there.
- 8:46 a.m. — A Burrill Street business reported a hood was stolen from a truck.
- 2:19 p.m. — A caller reported smoke coming from a Huron Street residence. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and discovered a problem with the residence’s water heater.
- 2:32 p.m. — Police responded to a minor accident between two buses at Swampscott Middle School. The contact was minimal and there was no damage.
- 3:11 p.m. — A caller was worried about a lone surfer at a beach off Humphrey Street. Police checked on the surfer, who was doing fine.
- 9:00 p.m. — Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Burrill Street. Fire and EMS were dispatched and one person was transported to North Shore Medical Center. Neither vehicle was towed from the scene.
Friday, March 11

- 3:28 a.m. — A caller reported a person looking in windows of a closed restaurant. An officer responded to the scene. There was nobody there and the building was secure.
- 3:57 a.m. — A police officer reported a breaking and entering at a Paradise Road store. Detectives were notified.
- 3:39 p.m. — Police responded to a 911 caller saying that a young girl had fallen and hurt her arm. Firefighters and the EMS responded. The parents said they would take their daughter to North Shore Children’s Hospital.
- 4:44 p.m. — A police officer carried out a park and walk detail on Paradise Road. The area was checked and found to be secure.
- 7:45 p.m. — Police responded to an abandoned 911 call. The resident reported that the children were playing with the home phone. The officer confirmed what the resident said.
- 8:16 p.m. — A police officer stopped a vehicle on Alvin Road. The driver had no license. The officer cited the driver with a court complaint and had the vehicle towed from the scene.
Saturday, March 12
- 1:13 a.m. — A smoke/carbon monoxide detector sounded in a cell block at the police station. Firefighters determined the detector was defective.
- 8:26 a.m. — A police officer stopped a motor vehicle on Humphrey Street and gave the driver a ticket.
- 9:47 a.m. — Police responded to a 911 call for a worker whose arm was stuck in machinery on Burrill Street. Firefighters and EMS were dispatched to the scene, too. The officer reported that the person may have suffered a broken arm. The worker was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital.
- 4:40 pm. — Police responded to a report of a raccoon that appeared to be ill and was on a patio at a Humphrey Street restaurant. A town animal control officer was notified.
- 9:03 p.m. — A Paradise Road caller reported being threatened by a neighbor.
- 11:48 p.m. — A caller reported a youth sitting in the middle of the road at Paradise Road and Longwood Drive. The youth was not to be found when police were checking the area.
