7-Year-Old Sleeping on Bus Returned Home

When the boy's mom realized the child was still on the bus she pounded on a window then called 911.

Shortly after noon on Sunday, Swampscott police responded to a call about a 7-year-old boy alone and sleeping on an MBTA bus.

Originally, the sleeping child was with his mom and other kids on the MBTA bus, Swampscott police Det. Tim Cassidy said.

When the mom stepped off the bus in Lynn and realized she was missing a child, she and the others hit a bus windows and yelled for the bus to stop, Cassidy said.

When that didn't work they called 911, he said.

MBTA police called Swampscott police.

The child was safe.

Police contacted the boy’s family and transported the boy home.
