18-year-old Charged With Domestic Assault

The Valley Street resident allegedly assaulted her brother and his pregnant girlfriend.

An 18-year-old Valley Street woman was arraigned on three counts of assault Tuesday.

Maria Correa, of 3 Valley Road, Apt. 3, was ordered to return to Lynn District Court for a pretrial hearing on the charges August 30.

On Sunday, Correa allegedly struck her brother's girlfriend, who is 9-months pregnant.

Correa also allegedly scratched and punched her brother, who had scratches to his face, neck and shoulders.

The incident allegedly started after the 18-year-old chased a visitor from the house. The visitor was the 15-year-old sister of the pregnant woman, who lives at the Correa residence.

When the pregnant woman stuck up for her sister, Maria Correa allegedly began screaming at and hitting her, according to witnesses.

Maria Correa is charged with two counts of domestic assault and battery and one count of domestic aggravated assault and battery for assaulting the pregnant woman.
