Monday's 13 breaks follow an earlier rash of break-ins, 14, in late March.

There is nothing to indicate the recent break are related to the March breaks, Det. Waters said

The March incidents took place over two days. In a few of them the thief or theives smashed windows.

Areas in town where those breaks took place were by Humphrey Street near Stanley Road and Phillips Beach Avenue, and in the area of Puritan and Tupelo.

"Residents should lock their vehicles and set alarms at night and never leave objects of any value in their vehicles such as laptops, GPS units, cell phones and chargers, brief cases, bags, or loose change or cash," Swampscott police Det. Waters said earlier. "Motor vehicles are fast easy targets to get into."
