Walking community

Being able to walk around Swampscott would help the Earth, our wallets than most home improvements. That would reduce pollution from the cars, save us money on gas and possibly save us from buying more cars. Swampscott is a small town in a nice place but hardly anyone walks or rides a bicycle around because town is simply not built for it. Some people have been trying to get a bicycle path in Swampscott for over 10 years but have been blocked. I can see a shopping center from my apartment in Swampscott but it is almost impossible to walk or bicycle down to the store because it was made only for driving. We are forced to drive here and it doesn't have to be that way.
