Lawrence, who was born June 10, 1950, died November 6, 2012. He served as a Massachusetts state representative, representing Swampscott and Marblehead. Services at Temple Emanu-El, 393 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 am.

Lawrence R. "Larry" Alexander, of Marblehead on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. For 35 years, he was the beloved husband of Mary Alice (Mark).

Loving father of Katie of Beverly and David of Seattle, WA. Dear brother of Dr. Paul & his wife Sheila of Providence, RI and the late Jay. Fond brother-in-law of Priscilla, Jon & Stephanie, Sarah & Barry, and Henry & Brannon.

Devoted son of the late Dan & Florence Alexander and son-in-law of the late Carl & Patsy Mark. Adored nephew of Shirlee and the late Harriet, Gladys and Roz. Devoted uncle of Rachel & Jeff, Zev, Ari, Jamie & Tara, Dave & Deanna, Nathan, Noah, Emma, Molly and Addie. Cherished cousin of Nadine & Neil, Lisa & Ken, Alexis & Chris, Courtney, Melissa & Kyle, Lauren, Jana, Claudia & Joel, Glenn & Laura and the late Eugene.

Services at Temple Emanu-El, 393 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead on Friday, November 9 at 10 am.

Burial will be private. Shiva at Larry's late residence Saturday 7-9pm, Sunday 1-6pm, Monday 5-8pm and also at his brother's residence in Providence Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 1-5pm & 7-9pm with minyan each evening at 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Fl., Brookline, MA 02445. From 1979-1990, Larry served as the elected representative of Marblehead & Swampscott in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and also was House Chairman of the Joint Committee on Energy from 1985-1990.
