Big Blue Tennis: Another Win — Topping Lynn English Wednesday

BIG BLUE BOY'S VARSITY TENNIS IS ON THE "MO' ROLL", ....

The Moon is spectacular tonight! I'm in Surprise, AZ. It's 86 degrees, dry, clear and windless. It's almost 9 PM here, almost midnight for you, and i wish i could be there to share the satisfaction of another solid performance by the Big Blue Boy's Varsity. The question comes: "What does one say about these guys?" Today they made the short trip to Lynn English. I'm told it was a pleasure to play on the new courts there. The weather finally moderated, the temp warmed a bit and the wind, although a factor, was managed well. Coach Polacco and i discussed the line-up we thought would be correct, and he very capably managed the players to another victory. I like our possibilities this week.

Matt Jacobs continues to dominate at First Singles:  6  -  0, 6  -  0

Val Temin is doing the same at Second Singles:  6  -  0, 6  -  0

Mike Pindrus is validating his position at Third Singles:  6  -  2, 6  -  1

Matt Gilberg is back and fully recovered from the flu that kept him out of the Danvers Match. Today he was paired with Ian Crimmins. They were a little unsettled through the first set, and it cost them that set. Coach Polacco counseled them re: what to change, they listened and adjusted. They adjusted very well, and reversed the momentum established by the English Team.

Gilberg and Crimmins are a formidable pair:  4  -  6, 6  -  2, 6  -  0

Sam Carmosino and Moevan Dennis are another formidable pair. They repeated the demonstration of it that they showed the Danvers Team. We have reason to be proud of the effort that they make at Second Doubles.

Carmosino and Dennis close out the 5  -  0 sweep: 6  -  2, 7  -  5

We are now 5  -  0 and the momentum seems to be building.

We host Lynn Classical tomorrow; come out to the Middle School Courts or have a good thought for us around 4 PM.
