Volunteer Members Needed for Recreation Commission
Recreation Commission is looking for member volunteers and sub-committee volunteers
The Swampscott Recreation Commission is looking for volunteers to fill 2 vacant seats, those for Precincts 1 and 4. If you are interested please contact the Board of Selectmen or Maureen Schultz at the Town Manager's Office by visiting the town's webiste at www.town.swampscott.ma.us.
We are also looking for a sub-committee to manage the Movie Nights we have in the summer, we have been trying to get 3 in during the summer. This group would sit in on the selection process of dates and movies. As well they would be present, set up and take down the screen and projector at each Movie Night. The Rec Comm works along with the Recreation Director in overseeing Field Use Fees and creating events for residents. These events include Movie Nights during the summer at Linscott Park, Car Show on Town Hall Lawn, Easter Egg Hunt on Town Hall Lawn, Santa Breakfest to benefit TLC held at the Senior Center and other events. We are looking to create an Ice Skating Festival the beginning of 2014 and also in 2014 Swampscott's Got Talent at SHS.
