Sandler to Film in the Area

Adam Sandler's crew is looking for local extras for the upcoming film 'Grown Ups 2'.

 

It looks like the second movie in two years will be shot in the neighboring towns of Marblehead and Swampscott. A little more than a year ago Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis and their crew landed in Swampscott to shoot scenes for the movie Ted.

Now, the word is that crew members working on Adam Sandler's upcoming film 'Grown Ups 2' were in Marblehead Wednesday afternoon, snapping photos of possible set locations at the , according to a post on the organization's Facebook Page.

Sandler's film company, Happy Madison Productions, is reportedly planning to film scenes for the movie in Marblehead in May and Sande Alessi Casting, of Los Angeles Calif., will be looking for locals to cast the movie.

The same organization did the casting for hit movies including Pirates of the Caribbean, Jack and Jill, That's My Boy and The Social Network, according to a recently circulated flier.

Residents interested in being picked as extras need to bring a 4x 6 color nonprofessional snapshot of themselves to casting, which will take place at The Boston Teacher's Union Hall on Mt. Vernon Street in Dorchester on Saturday, May 12 and Sunday May 13 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
