Finalists Named For Town Administrator Job

The candidates are a Swampscott resident, Ipswich's acting town administrator and a town supervisor from the state of New York.

 

Selectmen will interview three candidates next week for the open town administrator position. 

  • Gerard Perry of Swampscott, director of accounts for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
  • Christopher Senior of Port Washington, N.Y., the deputy town supervisor of the town of North Hempstead, Manhasset, N.Y.
  • Thomas Younger of Belmont, the acting town administrator in Ipswich.

Perry will be interviewed on Monday at 7:15 pm, Senior will be interviewed on Monday at 8:30 pm and Younger will be interviewed on Wednesday at 7:15 pm.

The interviews with selectmen will be open to the public and held at.

The clock begins to tick on the selectmen's deadline for choosing the next town administrator. They have 30 days to do so.

The Town Administrator Search Committee culled the candidates from their review of applicants and forwarded the names to the chairman of the Board of Selectmen, Matt Strauss.

The vacancy was created when Andrew Maylor left Swampscott to become North Andover's town manager.

The Swampscott position will pay between $113,000 and $130,000.

Dave Castellarin, Swampscott's assistant town administrator, is the acting administrator.
