COLLECTION FOR SYRIAN REFUGEES IN TURKEY

Cenna Khatib, 8th Grader, is helping collect items to send to Syrian Refugees in Turkey

My name is Cenna Khatib and I’m in 8th grade at the Middle School.  As you may know, the country of Syria is being ruled by a brutal dictator who as of now has killed over 30,000 of his own people in brutal attacks.  Each day over 400 people are killed in cities around Syria. I have family in Syria and I have visited Syria on three separate occasions. I am helping to organize a drive to collect items to send to refugee camps in Turkey. These refugees are sleeping in tents and have left all their belongings behind.

We have collection boxes in various locations such as the Swampscott Middle School, Swampscott High School, Stanley School and Big Blue Bargains. We need mostly winter coats, gloves, hats, diapers, canned food, and baby formula but please see the whole list of items that are attached. These items must be new and tagged due to border requirements. The expiration dates on all food items must be past October 2013.

We appreciate any help that our community can give! If you have any questions please email us at khatibs23@gmail.com.
