1. Private sector employment has grown for 23 straight months.

2. The economy has grown for 10 straight quarters.

3. The private sector is leading economic growth. Business output has grown at a 3.3% average annual growth rate since mid-2009 while government employment is shrinking.

4. Overall business investment is growing as are investments in equipment and software.

5. Corporate profits are up 76% since the first quarter of 2009.

6. Exports are up 23% in the same time period.

7. The economy added 227,000 jobs in February. We have just witnessed the strongest three months of pure job growth since the Great Recession.

8. The average annual household benefit from the Recovery Act is $3,319 over 3 years.

9. TARP’s bank programs have generated a positive return of $14 billion.

10. Auto industry employment is up 207,600 jobs since the rescue.

11. Discretionary spending is now on a path to its lowest level since the Eisenhower Administration.

12. The Affordable Care Act has helped curb costs of health care.

13. The size of government (as measured as a % of GDP) is only slightly larger (22.4%) than it was in 1983 (22.1%) under President Reagan.

PS According to a recently released poll by the Pew Research Center, both GOP frontrunners are running well behind Barack Obama in general election matchups. Among all voters, Obama leads Romney by 12 points (54% to 42%) and Santorum by 18 points (57% to 39%). Obama’s advantage among women voters, while largely unchanged from a month ago, remains substantial – 20 points over Romney and 26 points over Santorum.
