Holiday Fun

Check out the JCC’s beautiful Hanukkah House at the Marblehead Gingerbread Festival at Lee Mansion. Our talented preschoolers had a great time creating the sugary scene.  The Gingerbread Festival runs:

• Thursday & Friday, Dec. 1-2, 5:00-8:00pm
• Saturday, Dec. 3, 10:00am-4:00pm
• Sunday, Dec. 4, 12:00 to 4:00pm

The JCC will also be at Shubie’s on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 5:00-8:00pm. Stop by, pick up a FREE gift and some Guest Passes. Then on Sunday, bring your friends to the Open House at the JCC from 11:00am-5:00pm. Everyone’s invited to go for a swim, shoot hoops in the gym, work out in our Fitness Center…  you name it! Winter Guide Preview

The JCC’s Winter Guide is on the presses, packed with exciting classes and programs for everyone in the family. Here’s a sneak peek.

• GymBaby: The winter months can seem so long! All moms are invited to stop by the J and chat with other moms while their kids enjoy open play. Your children will shake their sillies out in a safe and fun environment.
• Boston Soccer Academy for Kids: The JCC is teaming up with the Boston Soccer Academy to offer a fun beginners soccer class with renowned coach Ralph Ferrigno of Liverpool, England.
• Piloxing: Come try what the stars are raving about! Piloxing is the first program that blends the best of Pilates, boxing and dance into a high-energy interval workout.
• Mad Scientists: Check out the newest addition to our popular after-school program, Adventure on the Hill. Kids will experiment in our science labs exploring chemistry, physics, rocketry, life science and more.
• Berlitz: Start planning your next international adventure! The J is proud to partner with the famous Berlitz language school and offer classes in several languages, including Spanish, French, Italian and Mandarin.
• Swim Lessons: Discover why the JCC’s popular swim lessons attract families from around the North Shore and beyond. Our experienced, nurturing instructors work with babies through adults.

Virtual Dementia Tour

Millions of Americans suffer from memory loss. Now you have a chance to better understand what it’s really like to live with dementia and memory impairment when the Virtual Dementia Tour comes to the JCC on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

The training educates and sensitizes you to the physical and mental challenges that dementia patients live with every day. There will be two, one-hour sessions offered during the evening. Session one is from 6:30-7:30pm and Session two runs from 7:30-8:30pm. Save your spot for this FREE evening by calling JCC Fitness Director Alison Licker at 781-631-8330.
