Swampscott residents hoping to add some culture to the holidays will have great events to choose from, thanks in part to grants awarded by the Swampscott Cultural Council (SCC).

More than a dozen artist groups were selected by the SCC to receive grants in 2011 from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, providing lively music, artist workshops, performances and interpretive sciences and humanities events all year long.

The North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra, following a crowd-pleasing performance at Swampscott High School this month, will perform at St. Anthony’s Church in Revere on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 4:00, and at St. Richard’s Parish in Danvers on Dec. 11 at 4:00.
