Area Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving

Here are six eateries in Swampscott and Salem that are open on Thanksgiving.

In Swampscott:

  •  — The Paradise Road restaurant wil be open from 4 pm to 11 pm. Items from its holiday menu include crab cakes, lemon basil salmon and the brewmaster's grill New York strip.

In Salem:

  • The Black Lobster — Join the Black Lobster for Thanksgiving brunch. Beginning at 8 a.m., the all-you-can-eat buffet includes Captain Crunch french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, bagels muffins and fruit salad. 
  • Tavern In the Square — The Tavern will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving feast with all the fixings from stuffing to turkey, coffee and pie for senior citizens, the homeless and families in need. If you'd like to volunteer, call 978-740-2337. Dinner is served 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
  • The Lobster Shanty — The Shanty will be celebrating their favorite holiday tradition by serving up a $30 family-style dinner with all the tables pushed together starting at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dishes include butternut squash and Granny Smith soups, chowder, veggie sourdough and mushroom stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted butternut squash tossed with caramelized shallots and maple syrup, sweet corn with horseradish and bay leaves, green beans sautéed in truffle oil, bacon and potato hash with dried cranberries, eggnog crème brûlée and pumpkin, apple and pecan pies. Reservations recommended. Stop by at 9 a.m. for free coffee and pastries. 
  • Passage To India — Looking for something without the turkey and extra spicy? Passage To India will be open to cater to those who'd like to take a break from tradition and enjoy a delicious, quiet meal. Note the early closing time at 8:30 pm. .
  • Lifebridge — There will be a traditonal Thanksgiving dinner at 1 p.m. to feed anyone in need of a hot meal.
