Flag Football Girls Take Time Out to Help the Hungry

Swampscott High flag football players and coaches ran the kitchen at My Brother's Table with the same enthusiasm they will have on Nov. 23.

Joe Tenney, fellow coaches and the girls of Swampscott High's flag football team took time from their preparations for the big — and we mean really big — game against Marblehead to help prepare food at My Brother's Table, a kitchen for the hungry in Lynn. The game is Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. at Blocksidge Field.

"Even with their busy schedules between college apps, school work, practices and whatever else they have going on these girls took a day from it all and gave some back working My Brother's Table yesterday (Monday), said Joe. "A day devoted to the vets, the powder puff team devoted a day to help serve those who may need it more and may have been a vet themselves. The girls and boys coaches had a blast giving back. They did chores from cooking, cleaning, baking, organizing and whatever else My Brothers Table could have thrown at them."
