Jackson Park Playground Recycling Back in Swing

First collection is Saturday.

1) Newsbit of the Day:

The effort to raise funds to build a committee recreation area and playground at lower Jackson Park continues one piece of scrap metal at a time. The project committee volunteers anticipate the playground will be completed this summer and will be located next to the soccer field below the high school.

In cooperation with the Swampscott Department of Public Works and the Swampscott Board of Health, the metal collections are held on the last Saturday of each month through October at the DPW Yard at 200 Paradise Road, Swampscott. The first collection of the year is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, from 8-noon.

Metal of all types is accepted. The motto is if it’s metal, we take it!
It’s a win/win for everyone, not only does it help raise funds for the JP Playground Project but it helps the environment!

In addition residents can further help the cause by making tax deductible donations to the Swampscott Rotary Charitable Trust Fund to purchase trees, benches, or equipment in memory or honor of loved ones.
