Free Tonight: Learn to Plant Perennials That Yield Food

Naturalist and landscaper John Root will be at the high school for a presentation on edible perennial gardening and landscaping.

At the high school, Thursday, May 2, at 7 p.m.: Edible Perennial Gardening and Landscaping with Naturalist and Landscaper John Root.

Learn how to establish and maintain a variety of
perennials, including trees, shrubs, vines, canes, and herbaceous plants, that
yield abundant crops of delicious and nutritious food throughout the growing
season with minimal maintenance. Plants will be offered for sale. Free
admission; all ages welcome. This program is offered by the Recreation
Department and is supported in part by a grant from the Swampscott Cultural
