Marian Court College offers courses in fiction writing

Marian
Court is offering a Fiction Writers’ Workshop and a Young Fiction Writers’
Workshop. Both are 8-week courses that will provide instruction in supporting
ideas with such craft elements as character, plot, point of view, description,
dialogue, setting, pacing, voice and theme.

The Fiction Writers’ Workshop
will be held on Tuesday nights from 6-9 starting on Jan. 14. The Young Fiction
Writers’ Workshop, open to students age 13-18, will be held on Wednesday nights
starting Jan. 15. The cost for each course is $400.

The
Fiction Writers workshops will be taught by Marian Court English professor Rick
Wormwood, an award-winning writer who holds a master’s degree in Creative
Writing from Columbia University and a bachelor’s in Journalism/English from
Memphis University.
