Honoring Dick Lynch at the Field House

This Wednesday, February 5th, Swampscott High School will be holding a ceremony to name the Fieldhouse after Dick Lynch. The ceremony will be at 7:00pm. Dick Lynch founded the St. John's CYO basketball program in 1953. He was a long time Swampscott teacher, Varsity basketball coach, Assistant Football coach, and Athletic Director in Danvers. He is a member of several Hall of Fames including the Massachusetts State Basketball Hall of Fame. Dick has not been in the best of health recently and did not feel comfortable sitting through an entire game, so The Hall of Fame Committee is hosting the ceremony and we have been asked to participate. If you can make it, I would love to get as many of the kids(both boys and girls) to wear their game uniform shirts(no need to wear shorts). You never know, we might even make the channel 5 news! I hope to see you all for this important event.
