Concert Singers Open Rehearsals

Concert Singers announce Winter-Spring
rehearsals



 



The Concert Singers of
Greater Lynn will begin rehearsals for their May 2014 concerts on Tuesday
evening January 7 at 7:30 pm at the Unitarian-Universalist Church, 101 Forest
Avenue, Swampscott, MA.  January 7, 14,
and 21 are considered “open rehearsals” where a prospective member may come and
try out the music, meet the group, and consider joining us.  No audition is required.  We encourage visitors and potential new members
during September and January only.  On
January 28 the membership list will be closed.

Selections
for the May 2 and May 4 concerts will include the well-known “Mass in G Major”
by Franz Schubert;   “A Cohan Salute”- a
selection of music by George M. Cohan; George Gershwin's “Porgy and Bess”;
three American spirituals by Aaron Copland, Moses Hogan and Robert Shaw; and a
new piece by local composer Javier Marquez simply entitled “Credo.”  Membership dues are $20 for the entire
semester, and cost of the music is minimal.
