Concert Singers Open Rehearsals

CONCERT SINGERS ANNOUNCE THIRTY-FOURTH SEASON!

This fall the Concert Singers
will begin their thirty-fourth season by rehearsing French composer Cesar
Franck's monumental Mass in A Major
The holiday concerts will also feature “A Boy is Born” as a tribute to Benjamin Britten's 100th
anniversary year, J. S.  Bach's popular “Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring”, “O Holy Night” by Adam, arrangements of
familiar Christmas carols, a selection of works devoted to the Hanukah season;
and a few choral surprises!  The
fifty-voice chorus will be accompanied by flutes, strings, harp, and professional
soloists.  The two holiday performances
will be held on Friday, December 6th in Swampscott and Sunday, December 8th in
Lynn.

No auditions are required, just a
willingness to attend rehearsals in September, October and November.  Rehearsals, beginning September 3, are held
every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the Unitarian-Universalist
Church, 101 Forest Avenue, Swampscott, MA.
September 3, 10, 17 and 24 are “open rehearsals,” when you may meet the
director and fellow singers, and try out the music with no obligation
whatsoever.  Membership dues are modest,
and each singer only pays for his/her music.
After September 24, no new members will be admitted until January 2014
when preparation for the spring concerts begins.
