Yoga and Live Music Benefit on Sunday

Bring your mat to Yoga Live 2011, a benefit for the Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation at Congregation Shirat Hayam.

This Sunday, the Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation is holding its third annual Yoga Live benefit at Congregation , 55 Atlantic Ave., Swampscott.

Six local yoga teachers collaborate with musicians to create an unforgettable experience.

Sponsored by Whole Foods of Swampscott, Olivia Organics and Congregation Shirat Hayam, all proceeds from the event benefit the Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation and its free wellness programs at the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center in Danvers.

Sue was a Swampscott wife and mother of three children who died of breast cancer in April 2006.

It was her mission after being diagnosed to help others live and fight cancer.           

Local teachers in the event are Larisa Forman of Swampscott, Danielle Jacobs of Marblehead, Nancy Long of Marblehead, Jennifer Craig of Salem plus Marc St. Pierre and Kerri Shea-Burr.          

Musicans are guitarist Theo Mazur of Salem plus cellist Rachel Arnold, Moroccan sintirist Mike Rivard and percussionist and drummer Fabio Pirozzolo, guitarists Elena O'Rourke of Gloucester and Carla Ryder.
