Thousands of dollars are spent to replace original windows, but are they as beautiful, functional and money saving as the originals you already have? Can replacements look and perform as well as the ones built with the house? The Window Woman, Alison Hardy, featured on This Old House, will discuss the types of windows that can be found in Swampscott homes and commonalities in style and dimensions. She will explore some of the reasons homeowners grow dissatisfied with their home's original windows and discuss a variety of methods to make older/antique windows functional and cost effective in our modern world.
