Wind-Blown Sand Brings Beach to Fisherman's Parking Lot
Here are five things to know in Swampscott today: the Department of Public Works expects to have the Fisherman's Beach lot swept clean of sand by early next week, possibly as early as today.
1) Newsbit of the Day:
Now that the sailboats that were stored in Fisherman's Beach parking lot are back in water the sand heaped in the lot stands out like dunes above a beach.
Wind blew the sand from the nearby beach to the lot, said DPW Director Gino Cresta. Day after day, grain after grain.

Crews will sweep the lot clean by early next week, possibly as early as today, the director said.
DPW swept the alley side — also known as the fisherman's side — of the Fish House earlier.
