When Does Daylight Savings Time End in 2012?

During these dark mornings you may have been wondering: When does Daylight Savings Time end?

Those 7 a.m. commutes will get much lighter next week. Officially, Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.

Remember, you’ll “fall back” and set your clocks back one hour. Many electronic devices automatically adjust when Daylight Savings Time begins or ends.

While the sun will rise at about 6:30 a.m. next week versus about 7:30 a.m. this week, it will also set much sooner. The sun will go down at about 4:30 p.m. next week versus about 5:30 p.m. tonight.

When you change your clocks in the fall and spring, it’s also a good time to change smoke detector batteries and check to make sure the devices are in working order.

Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Savings Time. Of course, all of Massachusetts takes part in it.

It begins again on March 10, 2013.
