VIDEO: Quiet Cat Loves to Hang Out

Patches and other pets are looking for their forever homes at Northeast Animal Shelter.

Patches is a sweet and low-key cat looking for a home.

Development Director Laurie McCannon said Patches is a quiet guy who loves to hang and "would want to be the furniture in someone's house."

"He'd probably want to lay on your couch and watch the birds out the window," she added.

McCannon said people don't always realize the advantages of adopting an adult cat.

"[It's] really a big bonus to adopt an adult cat," McCannon said. "Older cats actually really have a lot of great qualities...You don't have to worry about them getting sick as often; they don't get into so much trouble...They have more personality. They come to you when they want food, and they come to you when they want attention."

McCannon said Patches is eligible for Northeast Animal Shelter's "Seniors for Seniors" program — adopters over 65 are able to adopt Patches for a discounted fee.
