UPDATED: Hadley Closed; Other Schools — Open at 10 AM

Flash flooding at 5 a.m. leads superintendent to call a two-hour delay.

Hadley School will be closed today but the other schools in the district opened at 10 am, according to the superintendent's office.

Any student will be given an excused absense for any district school, however, if they choose not to attend today.

Hadley's basement flooded and there is no power at the school.

There is at least one route open to each school in town, the superintendent's office said.

Earlier this morning, Superintendent Lynne Celli declared a two-hour delay to school openings.

An early morning storm that hit about 5 am has made some roads impassable in town due to flooding.

The superintendent said a recorded message was sent to Swampscott homes.
