Traffic Island Award Contest Planned for August

Here is one of five things to know about Swampscott today; a group in town is sponsoring a traffic island award contest.

Judging will take place August 1st — August 15th.

Designing, installing, and maintaining a traffic island garden can

be a rewarding yet challenging experience. It is important to take

time to understand how to create a successful garden. Tips to help

address site-specific conditions and a suggested plant list are

available at Swampscott Town Hall.

2) Town and School Watch:

The Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

3) Swampscott Academics:

The following local residents were among over 900 students from Providence College who received undergraduate degrees during the College's Ninety-Fifth Commencement Exercises held on Sunday, May 19, 2013.

Andrew Ledbury of Swampscott graduated with a bachelor's degree in management.

4) Weather Watch:
