Town Administrator Candidates To Be Named This Week

The candidates will be interviewed by selectmen in public on Monday and Wednesday.

The Selectmen's chairman will receive a report this week on the candidates for the open town administrator position, he said.

Selectmen Chairman Matt Strauss will announce the names after the rest of the selectmen review the report from the five-member Town Administrator Search Committee, he said.

Once selectmen start their review they will have 30 days to choose the next town administrator.

The vacancy was created when Andrew Maylor left Swampscott to become North Andover's town manager.

Search Committee members said earlier that they wanted prospects who are well versed in financial matters.

The Swampscott position will pay between $113,000 and $130,000.

Dave Castellarin, Swampscott's assistant town administrator, is the acting administrator.
