The Mystique of Growing Orchids

Expert orchid grower Bob Richter is the North Shore Orchid Society's guest speaker Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Swampscott library. His presentaiton is called: "The Mystique of Growing Orchids: General Culture of Orchids for Beginners"

Bob Richter, an expert orchid grower is our guest speaker on Saturday, Sept. 17,  at the Burrill Street, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  

Bob has been growing orchids for over 30 years and his greenhouse located on the North Shore is home to more than 3,000 plants.

He specialized in cattleyas and phalaenopsis but his collection includes many other genera. Bob will give a presentation and answer your orchids questions. 

He will also have orchids to sell.

The pre-registration fee is $30, which includes membership for the NSOS monthly meetings for 2011-2012, morning refreshments and a light lunch. 

Registration the day of this event will be $35. Please make your reservations by Sept. 10, by sending your check to: Brenda Samiljan, 51 Cavendish Circle, Salem, MA 01970.

North Shore Orchid Society meets the second Thursday of each month, except the months we travel to orchid shows around New England. 

Our monthly meetings are informative and enjoyable with speakers and programs, blooming orchids, a plant raffle, refreshments and members willing to share their knowledge.
