The Great Debate: Corn Vs. Tomatoes

We're not sure if this is a debate or not but we are willing to instigate for the sake of our weekly Facebook poll question.

They are delightful and remind us of summer's fleeting pleasure.

Butter and sugar corn and homegrown tomatoes.

From a garden or farm stand that sells local stuff their goodness can knock you from your chair to the floor and back into your chair — if only so you can eat more.

The corn gets boiled or steamed and butter, lots of it, and salt and pepper.

For the impatient, try wrapping a shucked ear in a wet paper towel and microwave it for a minute or so (make that a couple of minutes). You might be surprised.

The tomato gets sliced and put on a piece of bread. Spread with mayo, sprinkled with salt and pepper, and topped with swiss cheese. Add the second piece of bread and you have a tomato sandwich.

You may also end up with some of that goodness on the front of your shirt. 

But back to the Patch-made debate.
