School officials unveiled their for the next school year. The increase is 2.8 percent. The spending reduces, adds and realigns education responsibilities.

3) School Committee race won't include incumbent

Committee member announced she would not seek reelection. There are two seats open on the panel. The other is held by Glenn Paster.

4) Hadley celebrates 100 years

The Hadley School held a spirited on Friday honoring 100 years at the Redington Street school.

The celebration included songs, dance, cake and special visitors.

5) Jonathan Derr inspires people

, a young man with Down syndrome, spoke to Patch about his life and work promoting education opportunities for people with disabilities.
